Went to Kaya + Toast located in IMAX the other day, it is quite hard to find as it is in a tricky spot.

For Aucklanders if you are wondering where this place is, walk towards the entrance near Starbucks (with the stairs going down), as you are going up the escalator, turn your head to your left now! *lol* Yup there it is!

I ordered Nasih Lemak with Chicken Drum Stick, the atmosphere there is not bad, it can serve up to 10 ppl only I think.

It even overlooks BORDERS the book shop, it’s fun eating there, the food is not bad for New Zealand, my Chicken Drum Stick is quite dry though, abit stale, I think it is overcooked or may have been there for a while, my meal also took quite a while to come! (Also they should give 2 Chicken Drum Stick, just the 1 did not fill me up). They also sold out most of their dishes by the time I was there, I think that was on a Thursday around 5.30pm.

The good thing is they have Malaysian comics! for example Kampung Boy by Lat, I since read this when I was……. 8-10yrs old or so? Also my teh tarik tastes great!

My friend tried the Curry Laksa with Prawn dumplings, it is not bad as well, the soup is a little blant, all in all, still great to see Malaysian food in New Zealand! Worth having a look! I also had Kaya Toast, it tastes great (heaps of butter though), this place really has the Malaysian atmosphere. I love how the tofu is soaked in with the Curry soup, makes it so juicy and tasty.

I will surely come back just to have some Kaya Toast and Teh Tarik, just to get into the Malaysian mode… I can try to imagine I am sitting in one of the mamak in KL *_* it sure does make me feel happy thinking I am back in Asia Haha!

Check it out! Great before going to the movies :)

Curry Chicken Nasih Lemak
Malaysian style curry chicken with coconut rice, served with sambal ikan bilis, 1/2 sliced egg, salad and a papadom. Authentic taste! The curry is a little spicy (just perfect) and the sambal is pretty spicy! Get some water ready  Love those papadoms!

Chinese with Chinese Mushroom Casserole
Generous pieces of chicken with chinese mushroom in a claypot, ideal for a cold night!
Have it with a bowl of white rice, garnished with ginger, red hot chillis and fresh coriander.

You will expect posts like these, a selection of random photos that I will present to you from all types of occasions.
Hope you just enjoy looking at them, though they are irrelevant nor do they relate to each other in any way.

Posts like these do not necessarily imply they were shot on the same day.
Just think of it as a set of experimental photography
Blue Day outside Scene 1 Apartments

Outside Scene 1 Apartments on Beach Road. Just after the rain…. it has been a cold and gloomy winter this year. I really like Scene 1 apartments more than Scene 2 and Scene 3, modernist and minimalist architecture. Those green coloured windows are sound-proofed glass, they do work… but not really as it’s still very noisy living in the city :getlost:

Cloudy Day outside AXA building

Looking up into the sky near AXA building, gives me a mysterious dark feeling… it was a very cold day as well. The branches were crackling away as the wind kept blowing.

Times Square walk

On the other side of the world… Outside Times Square at Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. It was a chilly night.

I love the atmosphere.

Pretty light

At Singapore Changi Airport, while waiting for my Mum talking to a free fortune teller  , I saw this very pretty tube of fluorescent light behind the sofa.

Sugar Cane

This is the sugar cane seller, he is so nice and friendly! I ask if I could take a picture, he said YES and cant stop smiling.

Anybody knows him?

Buying a huge glass of delicious sugar cane juice for SGD$2.00, my Mum thinks its expensive…

Anyhow this is at the airport I guess prices are a little higher?

How are the prices outside at local food stall? anyone care to share? THANKS
