Just finished my 3 day weekend~ can never have enough of it ^_~
Started off with company’s dinner on Friday night, drinking and karaoke session all night long
Funny how in New Zealand we would start drinking round midnight and surrender the next morning
but in Japan it’s the other way around
Started drinking from 6.30pm! Hahahaha beer makes me full! But that’s the culture (;

Sashimi Platter – Enkai

Prosciutto Wrapped Veges and Fruits

Fish Cake / Tofu thing? Let’s call it the European Kamaboko haha

Raw Sushi Platter

Satoimo Imonoko Kai (Potato Party) – Famous in Iwate

Beef Tataki + my colleague’s fingers -_-

Coconut chicken casserole dish

After the company’s dinner – we had to Climb for some cocktails then Zeque for non stop drinking session 1580yen + Japanese stick food

Assorted Kushi Yaki – our favorites are the nankotsu and gizzards

Day 2

1000yen brunch at Ermitage once again

Raspberry sorbet

After brunch and washing the car squeaky clean, we were off to Sendai!
Happy that we got to see Yosakoi Matsuri, sh1t loads of people dancing, no chance to snap a pic, overly crowded

Pity the pita bread at this kebab stall was too hard! :/

150yen Gyu-tan, cheap and tasty

Near midnight we head to Kokubuncho – Sendai’s little street of nightlife

Went to Club Shaft, 1500yen entry fee with free drink, after 2 tequila and vodka/redbull I was happy, but not with the music ;/
Spent the night in the Ark Hotel, the indoor baths are awesome! but not the beds, hard like a rock, was my 2nd time there, didn’t recall it was that bad, probably won’t go back anymore

Day 3

Today is Sunday! My only day off and I got a major headache from sleeping 10hrs+ ! LoL well that didn’t stop me from driving to Morioka-Minami, a place 30+mins drive away (61km)

I was craving for shabu-shabu and where is the best place in Iwate? That would be Jyu Jyu, they have another branch in Aeon, Izumi, Sendai

It’s fun to dine there because you cook it yourself and tastes yummy! Service is friendly and fast!

You have a selection of beef, pork, veggies!
Choose 2 from 4 soup base – Tonkatsu Pork Bones, Spicy Szechuan, Seaweed and Tofu
We chose Tonkatsu – because the soup is really tasty, and Spicy Szechuan for that Chinese steamboat-ness haha
Includes drink bar too (all you can drink)
Mmm my favourite Bak Choy! LoL they are expensive in the supermarkets here

Alternatively, you can opt for Sukiyaki! Prices are 1500yen (1575yen taxed) for 90mins all you can eat from when you start! After 5pm is about 2000yen for 120mins

Not to forget them animals too! A cute dog enjoying the live music and its atmosphere

Nationwide renowned best Souvlakis !
This is Dimitris Greek Food on Colombo Street (at the moment they are no longer on Colombo Street, thanks to a bank taking over the location, so they are still to re-open somewhere), you can find them on Saturdays and Sundays at the Arts Centre from 10am onwards, meanwhile this is the only place to get them! Usually gets busy around late noon 2-3pm, but worth the wait and they are fast too!
Dimitri’s souvlaki contains generous chunks of tender meat of your choice (beef, lamb or chicken) with juicy sliced lettuce, diced cucumbers, drizzled with tzatziki sauce and their home-made tomato sauce. I personally like Chicken + mild chili mmm…. just superb! So what are you waiting for?

Viva Madrid Churros once again (: 15 pieces for NZD9
A tasty treat each and every time
